Church of San Francesco d'AssisiThe first Franciscan community settled down in Turin after 1214, in an area not far from the city power and of economical activity. Church of San Francesco d'Assisi Since 1608 began the renovation and the décor renewal of the church with a plan of one turned nave and two turned aisles; of the 17th century remain the chapel of the Università dei Luganesi (second on the left, frescoes and stuccoes by Giovanni Andrea Casella) and the chapel of the right transept, on a project by Giovanni Valle (1695-1697, it was renewed many times). In the second half of the 18th century the building yard was led by Bernardo Antonio Vittone, who intervened on the plan and on the covers of the presbytery area (frescoes by Michele Antonio Milocco), on the décor solutions of the vaults and in the realizations of the altars (high altar, crucifix and of Sant'Antonio da Padova); on a project by Luigi Michele Barberis the chapel of Sant'Omobono is realized.
