Church of the VisitazioneThe church of the Visitazione, erected between 1657 and 1669, and completed in the decor apparatus in 1665, stands in the isle called in the old times, San Francesco di Sales. Church of the Visitazione Francesco Lanfranchi is the author of the scenographical building, placed in the corner of two streets, with the prospect rolling in an elegant way by angular bulkheads chasing on the sides and signed by the triangular pediment. Inside, the plan of the church is a Greek cross, surmounted by a great dome, while the observer is struck by the profusion of marbles and stuccoes. The presbytery, deeper than in the side chapels, has got and important high altar in polychrome marbles with bent pillars in black marble, on a drawing by Carlo Emanuele Lanfranchi, son an collaborator of Francesco. Remarkable is the so-called Cappellone or Coro delle Monache, by which you arrive in the chapel of San Francesco, it is a vast rectangular room and in its crypt are buried the nuns and some princes of the Savoy family.
