Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano (National Museum of the Italian Risorgimento)Instituted in 1878, it was moved to the actual seat in 1935, in 27 rooms of the noble floor of the palace, there is illustrated the process of unification from the battle of Turin on 1706 to World War II through paintings, statues, books, documents, prints, photographs, relics, weapons, flags, uniforms. ![]() The Carignano Palace, seat of the Risorgimento museum In the seventh room are exhibited the relics of Silvio Pellico and his reconstructed cell in the Spielberg with the authentic door; in the 13th room there is Carlo Alberto's bedroom, with the original furniture, in which he died in Oporto. In the elliptical room of the subalpine Parliament, which hosted the Chamber of Deputies of the Sardinian Reign between 1848 and 1860, there are tricolour cockades to signal the seats of Garibaldi, d'Azeglio, Balbo and Cavour. In the 20th and 21st rooms you can admire the 108 temperas of Carlo Bossoli with scenes of the Second Independence War. The visit finishes with the Resistance Gallery (27th room), were there are documents connected with the anti-fascism movement. The museum of the Risorgimento and the library are closed since 3 april 2006 for maintenance.
