Palazzo Saluzzo PaesanaThe palace was realised by Gian Giacomo Plantery, between 1715 and 1722, commissioned by the senator Baldassarre Saluzzo of Paesana. Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana It cost the huge amount of 300,000 liras and it is perhaps the most vast and articulated noble palace of Turin. The building, partly income house in the zone in via del Carmine, where there are also the stables, faces a huge honour courtyard in which all the canonical elements of the Turin palace are doubled: double entrance, two solemn staircases, two opposing open galleries. The hall is covered by a typical "planetarium" vault, vault with lunette webs that lies exclusively on the perimeter structures consenting, without intermediate supports, vast spaces. Adhering to the 18th century model of the noble palace, already open to rent even in the solemn part, foresees four apartments, one given to the Saluzzo family, the others – according to an estimate of 1726 – to the marquis of Gattinara, the earl of Sartirana and to president Cotti. The two huge staircases among the others had the task of great vestibules for each couple pf apartments. The Saluzzo apartment, even though reduced according to the original dimensions, still keeps 18th century décor, among them the upper doors by Domenico Guidobono and a frescoed vault by the same painter. The rooms frescoed by Bartolomeo and Domenico Guidobono located in the apartment placed on the noble floor recently renovated, can be visited from local government, institutions, firms and private person starting from first of December 2007.
