Villa Abegg already Vigna di Madama RealeAlong the road of San Vito – Revigliasco the ancient vineyard of "Madama Reale" (known as villa Abegg) is nowadays a municipal property and used as Study Centre. The building, inseparably linked with the garden and the park, is the surviving part of the vineyard that belonged to the regent Christine of France. The restructuring works of a pre-existent building began in 1622 and continued until 1652: in the building yard came Michelangelo Morello, Andrea Costaguta and Amedeo di Castellamonte. The vineyard is placed in the valley under the hills of San Vito overlooking the river and in functional relation with the Castello del Valentino. In the collection Theatrum Sabaudiae, the work in two volumes wanted by Carlo Emanuele II that collects the beautiful images of residences and sanctuaries of the Savoy dukedom, it is drawn the 17th-century project of the villa: a central body with salon and belvedere, angular pavilions and symmetrical gardens. In 1751-1753 the missionary congregation of San Vincenzo (to whom the villa passed the property), completed the demolition of the palace and the restructuring of the surviving pavilion. Nowadays the 17th-century implant of the Italian garden, settled on the utilization of the natural valley and of the artificial terracing, is partially cancelled by the late "park" interpretation of 19th-century taste.
